Sydney Airport is located approximately nine kilometres south of Sydney City. The airport is a modern facility with everything on hand that you would expect at a major airport.
The airport is comprised of an international, and two domestic terminals.
The International Terminal (T1) services most major international airlines.
Terminals (T2 & T3) are located in a separate area. T2 is the major
domestic terminal. All domestic airlines fly to it.
T3 is a Qantas terminal, which services specific Qantas flights.
Transport is available for terminal transfers, and for travel to and from the city. The options include car hire, taxi, private shuttle, bus and train.
The airport provides a range of parking options. This includes free parking areas, valet services, short and long term parking, and private companies that operate outside of the airport.
Like all major international airports, security is ever-present. To make your journey easier remember some pre-flight checks, and observe basic rules for flying. And never leave baggage unattended in the airport areas.
It is recommended that you use travel insurance before taking any long journey, especially to international destinations.
If you have overlooked this, travel insurance is available from Travelex, ANZ bank and Australia Post at Terminal 1, and Travelex at Terminal 2.
If you are flying to international destinations, ensure your passport is valid for 6 months or more before flying. Airlines may not let you fly if you do not have such an amount of time left on your passport.
And speaking of passports, don't forget it!
