Terminals 2 & 3

Sydney Domestic Airport is comprised of Terminals 2 & 3 (T2 & T3). These service regional flights destined for smaller airports around Australia.

Airlines that fly to the terminals include Qantas, Jetstar, Tiger, Aeropelican, Rex and Virgin.

Terminals 2 & 3 are much smaller than the International Terminal:

  • Terminal 2 is the major terminal servicing all domestic aircraft
  • Terminal 3 is strictly for Qantas domestic flights

Sydney Domestic Airport terminal transfers and transport options to and from the city include taxi, car hire, private shuttle, train, and bus services.

Everything a domestic traveller may need is located at the terminals:

  • Bureaux de change and ATM/cash machines
  • Shopping (including fashion and retail stores)
  • Restaurants, bars, cafes and fast food
  • Other services including airline lounges and baggage services

T2 and T3 are separated by an access road loop, with a car park in the centre.

A free 10 minute pickup/drop off car park is available on ground level (adjacent to short term car park). If you need more time, parking is available in the short term area.

Sydney Domestic Airport Services and Information

T2 & T3 Transport and Terminal Transfers

To transfer between Sydney Domestic Airport terminals bus and rail options are available.

If travelling by Qantas or Virgin their Seamless Transfer option may be available to you (please check with your airline).

Sydney Airport transport options to and from the city include taxis, car hire, private shuttles, train and bus services.

The train station is located beneath terminals 2 & 3, and is well sign-posted.

The Sydney taxi rank for these terminals is easy to find. Only hail a taxi from this designated area.

Hand luggage

Before flying on an Australian domestic aircraft ensure any sharp objects are stored in checked luggage before flying.

Liquids, aerosols and gels restrictions do not currently apply to domestic flights.

An exception to this is when domestic passengers occasionally travel on an international aircraft while it's travelling within Australia.

In this case domestic passengers board their aircraft at the international terminal, and will be subject to international restrictions.

Domestic Terminal 2

Terminal 2 is a busy domestic airline hub.

There are three levels at terminal 2:

  1. Check in & security is on level 2
  2. The departure concourse and gates are on level 1
  3. The arrival hall is on ground level

ATM/Cash Machines, Bureau de Change and Banks

ATM/cash machines are available throughout the terminal.

Travelex bureau de change and worldwide money services are available past security on the departures concourse (5am – 11pm, open everyday).

ANZ banking services and bureau de change are located in the International Terminal 1.

You will find better exchange rates by changing money outside Sydney Airport, as airport exchange rates are rarely the best.

Terminal 3 -
Qantas Domestic Terminal

Qantas flights QF400-QF1599 operate from Terminal 3.

The terminal can feel like a country airport when there are no flights departing or arriving, with no one other than the check in staff hanging about.

The departure concourse is on level one. Manned check-in desks and self service check-in services are available.

There is a replica of a Qantas ARVO 504k biplane on display on the departure concourse. It celebrates the proud beginnings of Qantas aviation.

An historical aviation museum is accessible from the departure concourse (9.30am - 4.30pm, open Monday to Friday).

Some food and beverage shops are located in the terminal.

Other Services at Terminal 2 & 3

T2 Services Before and After Security (Departure Level and Arrivals Hall)

Free WiFi is available throughout Terminal 2.

Internet kiosks are available before and after security check.

Shops including a newsagent and convenience store are available on the departure concourse and in the arrivals hall.

Toilets, disabled toilets and parent’s rooms are available throughout the terminal.

T2 Services Before Security (Departures Level and Arrivals Hall)

A cafe is available for drinks and snacks on the departure concourse.

A post box also located on the departure concourse.

Baggage Storage Smartecarte – For baggage storage, bag weighing, visa application, printing, copying and faxing. Located near carousel 6 in arrivals (5.30am – 9pm, open everyday).

T2 Services After Security

Food and beverage shops: A range of cafes, restaurants, bars and fast food is available.

Fashion and accessory stores: Both Australian and worldwide brand stores.

Massage services are offered by Samskara Massage (after customs near gate 33, 7am – 9pm, open everyday).

The location of airline lounges is as follows:

  • Virgin Australia Lounge – Near Gate 37
  • Qantas Lounge – Opposite gate 53
  • Rex Lounge – Near entry to gates 49 – 59

Lost Property – Contact for lost or found property. Located next to gate 54 (6am – 10pm, open everyday).

Sydney domestic airport pharmacy - Guardian Pharmacy is located near gate 32 (6am – 9pm, open everyday).

Mobile phone services are offered by Vodaphone (6am – 10pm, open everyday).
